How to get from Stansted Airport to Gatwick Airport:
Train:
There are two main ways to travel from Stansted Airport to Gatwick Airport by
train. You can obtain a though ticket for the whole journey but that wont cover
the Gatwick Express or Stansted Express which make less stops and so are
slightly quicker.
Through ticket route:
Take the rail service service into Tottenham Hale Station. Transfer to the tube and
take the Victoria Line into Victoria Station. Transfer onto the southern
railways train to Gatwick Airport.
When booked as one trip this costs from about?38
one-way adult fare and takes around 115-120 minutes.
Stansted and Gatwick Express trains
2: Taking the faster Stansted Express and Gatwick Express trains and connecting
from Tottenham Hale to Victoria by tube can save something around 10 minutes but
adds some £10 or more to the cost. It just doesn't make sense to use that
option as oppose to the single ticket option above.
Coach:
National Express run services up to 26 times a day between Gatwick (both
terminals) and Stansted. All coaches
have a WC onboard. Coaches run between 3.40 and 22.00.
717 - stops at Hatfield and Heathrow (central bus station, terminal5) on route
727 - makes stops at Waltham Abbey, Honey Lane ( opposite Marriott
Hotel), HEATHROW AIRPORT (central bus station), Heathrow Airport
Terminal 5, and then stops at both terminals at Gatwick (North and
South).
797 - stops at Heathrow terminal 5

Train+Coach allowing stop over at central London
This journey can also be travelled using a combination of coach and train. The
benefit of this option is that it can be cheaper than using the train or coach
options alone and allows for a quick visit or overnight stay in London if your
itinerary allows or requires. The
National Express coach service runs to Victoria coach station 24 hours taking
85-100 minutes. From Victoria train station which is adjacent to the coach
station you can take either the southern railways service or the more expensive
Gatwick express for the journey out to Gatwick airport (30-40 minutes).
Expect your journey to take between 160 and 220 minutes and costs around £17-£24.90
National Express Coach Stansted to Victoria:

Gatwick Express is a non-stop service and is about 10 minutes quicker than the mainline service.
Cheapest Option and Allows stop in central London
If your on a tight budget you can take the National Express Coach to Victoria
Coach station (85-100 minutes) and then transfer onto the coach for Gatwick
(75-95 minutes).

Road:
Travel by road is best travelled via the M25. Leave Stansted Airport and
take the M11 south bound towards London. Pickup the M25 Southbound
clockwise section at junction 6 following the signs for Dartford. You'll
be on the M25 for some 40 miles until taking the M23 Gatwick/Brighton.
You'll be on the M23 southbound for around 10 miles before coming off at
the sign for Gatwick airport.
You can make this journey by heading straight through London but this is
not a practical route as traffic will be pretty bad on weekdays and
weekend afternoons.
On route on the M25 you will pass through the Dartford toll and have to
pay a toll (currently
£2.50 for a normal car
) to carry on your journey.
Expect your journey by car/taxi/minicab to take 60-110 minutes.
Expect your coach journey to Gatwick airport to take 170-220 minutes.
