The great benefit of the coach station is that its directly adjacent to the Victoria train station. This means you have links to just about anywhere in London and indeed out again to all parts of the UK. The coach station is used by several other companies who also provide services to major towns around London. Victoria Station is the start/end point for the Gatwick Express train service to Gatwick Airport.
