Hotel in Detail:The Franklin hotel is made up from four red brick former Victorian Townhouses that were made into a single hotel in 1992. Understated entrance on this quiet road so make sure you look for the townhouse with the letter F on the front. Combining the warmth of a private home with the traditional service of a high end hotel. Reopened in August 2016 after a total renovation with the interiors the work of hotelier and designer Anouska Hempel (of Blakes Hotel fame). Design features include grey limestone and Carrara marble flooring as well as Italian velvets and silks. The black and white interiors create a dark and moody atmosphere with mirrors in abundance and can be described as sexy, stylish and intimate. The hotel is owned an Italian company and them modern Venetian influence is felt throughout. The leafy grounds of Edgerton Gardens compliments the striking interiors. Walls have grey stencils of the name "Joseph Herrmann 1907". He was a clergyman who had a secret relationship with Lord Egerton.
