The areas history goes all the way back to medieval times and is the point of the oldest know trading route in Britain. The market is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. You have good access to south London from here by road since the A12 is only a 1/3rd of a mile to the east and is the approach road to the Blackwall Tunnel.
