Mercure London Gatwick Hotel

Introduction: Located on the border of the airport grounds for the North Terminal at Gatwick making the Mercure London Gatwick is one of the closest hotels to the airport. Its actually also on the southern edge of the Town of Horley, a small town with a population of some 21,000 and providing some amenities such as places to eat, pubs and a thriving intimate theatre, the Archway theatre. There's also a 24 hour Tesco supermarket with 400 yards of the hotel along Reigate Road. Even nearer is a petrol station selling more items of confectionary/grocery and a McDonalds within 1 mile close to the South terminal. You could use the airport facilities themselves where there are a selection of shops, bars and cafes. However in the immediate vicinity of the hotel there is not much else to see or do and the hotel is really geared totally towards serving the airports passengers. If you do have time on your hands Gatwick Zoo which is within 2.5 miles and Crawley leisure Park which includes a cinema complex and bowling alley is just over 3 miles way. The nearby rail access makes travelling down to the south coast and Brighton (23.5 miles) a practical day out. For a day at the races Lingfield racecourse is just over 7 miles away. The close by motorway links are within a 10 minute drive. There is a 3 mile running course close to the hotel.
