Description: The Generator London is located in central
London very close to Russell Square and three mainline stations at St Pancras,
Euston and Kings Cross. A good base for exploring the heart of London with
Oxford Street (0.7 miles), Covent Garden (1 mile), Soho (0.9 miles) and
Piccadilly Circus (1.2 miles) all nearby. Other close by attractions include the
British Library (0.2 miles), Dickens House (0.4 miles), British Museum (0.5
miles), Camden Market (1.4 miles), Madame Tussauds (1.3 miles) and London Zoo
(1.5 miles).
The Generator is a large hostel with an upbeat, funky appeal aimed at
backpackers visiting London. A well established hostel that has been operating
since 1996 and is the largest such type of hostel in London..
Accommodation consists of private twin, triples, quad and 5 bed rooms, all with
a wash basin and multi purpose hanging units. Bed linen and towels are provided
along with hot shower facilities 24 hours a day. Showers and lavatories are off
suite along each corridor.
You must be 18 or over to sleep in a dormitory. Dormitories are both mixed sexes
and female only.
The bar is open 6pm-2am each evening serving a range of drinks including
in-house cocktails. The bar is also the scene for various events including
karaoke, quizzes, a live DJ and movies on different nights of the week.
Onsite there is also an internet Café (charge), lounge and games room with pool
tables which are available 24/7.
The hostels restaurant serves a full breakfast (charge) and a free continental
breakfast.
In addition to the above there is also a chill out lounge (watch movies, study
or just surf the net 7 days a week) and meeting room.
There is a a formal reception which is open 24 hours.
The Generator has a Travel Shop which is open from 8am - 1am where you can buy
soft drinks and ever day essential items such as towels, padlocks, travelcards
and musical tickets. The shop is also an information booth with the staff happy
to advise you on any questions you may have about your stay in London.
