Hotel in Detail:
Unique to London is the 4 star floating yacht hotel that is the Sunborn London. Floating on the River Thames which splits London into south side and north side and is actually the longest river in England. A true one off experience for a stay in London. Although built in Finland as a real yacht the ship does not have an engine.Every guest room has a view which will either be of the River Thames facing south or over Royal Victoria Docks facing north. Bedrooms feature large French windows that lead on to a private terrace or balcony and have a classic style. Sizes average 30 square metres or 45 square metres for the suites. Bedrooms have a one touch control system for temperature, lighting and multimedia adjustment and access by keycard. The name Lands End was chosen for the restaurant as it was the orginal name for the local area in the 19th century when it was just a marsh.

Nearest: DLR Station: Prince Regent 0.2 miles (0.3 km), Tube Station: North Greenwich 1.3 miles (2.1 km), Railway Station: Charlton 1.4 miles (2.3 km), Motorway: M11 Junction 4 6.1 miles (9.8 km).Without doubt the Sunborn London Yacht Hotels standout feature of its location is being moored just 200 yards south of the ExCel exhibition centre. An internationally renowned venue with a year round calendar of major events. Floating on the Royal Victoria Docks in East London some 2 miles from the Docklands/Canary Wharf (6 minute drive) area which has become Londons second business district after the City of London ( 5 miles from the hotel) and 7 miles east of central London and Piccadilly Circus. The Sunborns location will suit anyone needing to be close to east London or any of the many venues here which apart from the ExCel includes the O2 Arena/Millennium Dome which is just over a mile to the south (on the other side of the River Thames). You can reach the O2 Arena using the Thames Cable Car (aka Emirates Airline London) which is a Gondola lift link running between Royal Victoria Docks/ExCel and the O2. The Royal Docks terminal is half a mile from the hotel. This part of London has been rejuvenated since the 90's and is now a bustling area with a range of amenities. However unlike the most central areas amenities are more dispersed and require longer walks or taxi/bus rides, but many restaurants are within 5 minutes walk. The area is also served by the Docklands Light Railway with Custom House Station (5 minutes walk) and Prince Regent Station within a fifth of a mile and a third of a mile respectively. The other big plus for this location is being so close to London City Airport at just 1 mile (7 minutes drive) from the hotel which is an international airport. You will experience some overhead noise from landing and taking off planes.
Other nearby places of interest include The Crystal (worlds largest exhibition focused on urban sustainability) (0.5 miles), Thames Water Barrier (1 mile), National Maritime Museum (2.3 miles), Westfield Shopping Mall Stratford City (2.8 miles) and the Tower of London (4.4 miles).
