Introduction: Located south of the
River Thames close to Colliers Wood tube station. The train journey into central
London takes around 30 minutes. Convenient for the Wimbledon Tennis
Championships held at the all England Tennis club each June which is 2 miles
north west of the hotel. Colliers Wood can lay claim to being home to one of the
UK's ugliest buildings, known as the Colliers Wood Tower this large office block
was named London's ugliest building in 2006. Its also home one of the largest
supermarkets in Europe, the Sainsbury's Savacentre supermarket, located at 1
Merton high Street. Wimbledon is useful as a stop point between
Gatwick Airport (about 40
minutes away) and central London and 2 motorways are within 10 miles, the M4
and the M25. The nearest airport is actually one of London's lesser known
international airports, Biggin Hill, where aircraft are available for charter.
Directly opposite the hotel is a retail park which includes a large supermarket,
restaurants/coffee shop
and large stores. Local places of interest include Merton Abbey Mills craft fair and market (0.1 miles), Wandle Heritage Centre Merton Heritage Centre telling the story of Merton (0.1
miles), Deen City Farm and Riding School (0.3 miles) and the London Sewing
Machine Museum (1.8 miles). For local shopping take a trip to the Centre Court
Shopping Mall on Queens Road 1 mile from the hotel where you will find 2 floors
of shops and a 3rd floor for eating. Major attractions within reach include
Kew
Gardens (6.8 miles),
Hampton Court (7.1 miles) and
Chessington World of Adventures (7.3 miles).

The hotel is next to the River Wandle and has several fast food restaurants in
the immediate vicinity and a pub serving food within 5 minutes walk.
If you've ever stayed in a Premier Inn previously then you'll more or less know
what to expect as the facilities are pretty much standard across all their
hotels.
Within the Premier Inn Wimbledon South is a contemporary styled restaurant and
licensed bar (Bar Est). The restaurant serves evening meals which consists of a
selection of traditional English and Continental dishes. Breakfast has two
options, either the full selection with as much as you can eat for a fixed price
or for slightly less a continental breakfast.
