Description: Amsterdam Hotel London is just yards from
Earls Court Tube station which is on the Piccadilly, Circle and District Lines.
The Piccadilly line connects out to Heathrow Airport (35 minutes) to the West of
London and Piccadilly Circus (12 minutes) which is the very heart of London.
This particular district is known for two things, its good value mid range
accommodation and for the huge Earls Court Exhibition centre which is just 400
yards from the hotel. Although the shops and amenities in this are cant match
the fashionable and upmarket offerings of places such as Kensington (0.6 miles)
and Chelsea (0.9 miles) there is none the less plenty in the surrounding
vicinity including supermarkets. The Fulham Road is just 0.7 miles south and has
a range of shops and restaurants that blends the contrasting amenities found in
Earls Court and Kensington. 250 yards to the north is the busy main route of the
A4/West Cromwell Road. This is part of a much longer route that goes out to the
West of England and Heathrow Airport and in to the most central areas of London.
Of local interest is the
Tardis on display outside Earls Court Tube station. This is really just an
old fashioned police telephone box but was made famous as a space craft by the
TV series Dr Who.
