Hotel in Detail:
Just when London was looking for inspiration along comes citizenM. To quote the chain itself, they are geared to serving the mobile citizens of the world, the suits, weekenders, explorers, affair-havers and fashion-grabbers. That tells you enough already to realise this is a whole new breed of hotel. The style is funky, off-the-wall and individual. They call themselves a boutique style hotel, but with 192 bedrooms we would differ on whether that's a contradiction right there. What you get is a very modern hotel with the latest in high end new tech amenities with lots of red all over the place. You also get over sized beds and windows that stretch from wall to wall. What was was once subject to extra fee's by default for most hotels such as movies on the flat screen TV and wireless internet access are all included in the hotel rate at citizenM. There's even bicycle racks for the climate friendly traveller. That's not just a gimmick as London these days is very cycle friendly, it even has its own public cycle hire scheme.
Bedrooms are as contemporary and trendy as you would imagine. Ambient lighting sets the mood and a touch screen tablet is used to control the lights, flat screen television, hi-fi, curtain blinds and the climate control. Bathrooms have a powerful rain shower and toiletries are supplied. The Wi-Fi is free.
Bedroom amenities: Safety Deposit Box, full length mirror, Air Conditioning, Iron, Desk, Ironing Facilities, Fan, Extra Long Beds (over 2 metres), Heating, Soundproofing, Wooden / Parquet floor, Hairdryer, Telephone, iPad, Refrigerator
The citizenM hotel has a 24-hour reception and contemporary shared living areas
furnished with Vitra fittings. IMac computers are available to guests them
along with a free printing service.Onsite is a restaurant area called the CanteenM which is open 24/7 (how any hotels can lay claim to that?) where
sandwiches and snacks are served. Additionally there is a hotel bar serving a range of drinks including beer, champagne and cocktails. There is also a breakfast bar available, which serves coffee, tea, pastries and cooked English breakfasts. The English breakfast includes a fresh croissant, orange juice, fresh brewed coffee or tea, muesli yoghurt, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, sausage and bacon.
Hotel has a lift/elevator and luggage storage facilities. You are not permitted to smoke in the public areas or bedrooms.
