This is a south London location (south of the River Thames) some 3.5 miles (5.6 km) from the main west end in the heart of central London. The mainline station of Packham Rye (links with London Bridge Station) is 0.4 miles (0.6 km) away while the nearest tube station is New Cross Gate at 1.5 miles (2.4 km). However the hotel is on a major high road with a bus stop outside (20 minute ride into central London), a major bus terminal with 5 minutes walk and also plenty of local shops nearby. There is a 24 hour supermarket next door and Sainsburys within 5 minutes walk. Peckham is not a tourist type of area and is more lower middle class residential, it does offer much better value though than more central and upmarket areas. Peckham is home to a large West Indian population and the influences are very much part of the area. A 10 minute walk west finds Camberwell which offers some better class restaurants and bars.
