In July 2011 became the first London hotel to trial anti-snoring bedrooms. With the use of soundproofed walls (eggbox-style foam to reduce noise), sound-absorbing headboard, an anti-snoring pillow and a device to make people sleep on their sides.
Bought in July 2008 by Dubai businessman Marg Galadari for £85 million pounds.
Sold in January 2007 to Grupo Statuto, an Italian real estate company, for £81 million pounds. Crowne Plaza retains management under the 17 year deal.
