Introduction: The Sloane Square
Hotel is situated at the gateway to central London. On its west side is the ever
popular
Kings
Road which actually starts from the square. For decades this road has had a
reputation as leading trendy fashions and for its evening nightlife thanks to
its bars and restaurants. On the hotels east side is Eaton Square (and
Belgravia). This has a reputation as one of the most expensive residential areas
(which are mostly apartments) in the UK. Just beyond Easton Square is the
grounds of
Buckingham Palace and the mainline station of Victoria (the Gatwick Express
runs from here). A half mile walk to the south of the Sloane Square hotel along Lower Sloane
Street and Chelsea Bridge Road finds the banks of the River Thames. To the north
and running from the Square is the top fashion shopping area of Sloane Street
which itself leads up to the internationally known Knightsbridge area (home to
Harrods department store).
Local attractions include the
National
Army Museum (0.5 miles),
Victoria and Albert Museum (0.6 miles),
Hyde Park (0.7
