Introduction:
Opposite Regents Park on the Northern edge of central London is the Melia White House Hotel.
Regents park
(0.1 miles) is one of the London's largest and most popular parks and home to
London Zoo. Close by is the mainline station
of Euston and the underground station of Great Portland Street
is opposite. A taxi can normally be found on the outside rank
and a short walk away is the terrific shopping on Regent Street.
The hotel is in an almost island like location being surrounded
by a road on each side.
Within the surrounding vicinity are a few 24 hour mini-markets.
Camden market
which is 1 mile away to the North, is well
worth a visit on Sundays. Nearest attractions include the
Petrie Egyptian Archaeology Museum (0.4 miles), History of Medicine gallery
(0.4 miles), Pollock's toy museum (0.5 miles),
Madame Tussauds
(0.5 miles),
Wallace
Collection (0.7 miles) and the
British Museum
(0.9 miles). Although so close to the central areas and busy shopping areas, the
hotels actual location is something of a peaceful oasis with residential areas
to the North and the Regents park to the West. The Marylebone Road which is just
to the South marks the border between the busy and bustling central areas and
the slightly more laid back suburbs on its Northern side.
