| Description:
The Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes London is situated on Baker Street.
A street name made famous across the world by the detective from the novels of
the same name. Indeed the Sherlock Holmes museum is just 400 yards to north
along Baker Street. This location
just about marks the start of central London on its Northern side
and
Baker street boasts a multitude of bars, shops and cafes,
including the Barracuda casino. The bottom end of Baker Street
joins Oxford Street, and this marks the start of the heart of
London and what is known as the west end.
Oxford Street is one
of Europe's busiest shopping street with a huge range of shops from small
boutiques to large superstores. Just behind the hotel and on its eastern side is
the area known as Marylebone. Mostly a residential area centred on its bustling
High Street it has a contrasting feel (more communal) to the more central areas
of London. Half a mile to the north is
Regents Park. A large open space which
includes an open air theatre and
London Zoo. Its only slightly further (0.6
miles) to Hyde Park where you will find horse riding and boating among the many
things to do and see there. Other nearby places of interest include Platform 5
at Baker Street Station (the oldest part of the London tube system) (0.1 miles),

Tussauds and the London Planetarium (0.2 miles), Elvisly yours and Beatles mania
stores (0.2 miles),
Wallace Collection (0.3 miles) and Wigmore Hall (classical
music venue) (0.4 miles). The Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes Hotel offers the best of design led, contemporary decor and state of the art technology. Steeped in history the hotel is made up from 2 houses dating back to the 1700's (Regency period). Each bedroom is fully air-conditioned with en-suite facilities. Dining Options: Sherlock's Grill Restaurant: A contemporary and modern style restaurant, surrounded by floor to ceiling glass walls with many design led features, open plan concept featuring a mesquite wood burning oven as the main method of cooking alongside the charcoal grill and wok. Modern European cuisine focusing on top grade seasonal ingredients and organic foods. Sherlock's Bar: Stylish, bright, modern bar. Ideal for a quick drink or a long leisurely chat watching the world go by on Baker Street. Sherlock's Bar will serve light snack sized finger food and tapas, salads, sandwiches and snacks to accompany the wide selection of beverages and speciality vodkas. Also serves coffee. Alfresco dining with tables on Baker Street weather permitting. The Park Plaza has 7 flexible meeting rooms for 5 to 50 people that come with multiple phone lines, high speed internet access and A/V equipment.
