Originally one of London's first boutique hotels dating back to the 1980's. Don't expect a huge glowing neon sigh saying hotel. Very simply the hotel has the number 16 outside to maintain the feel that this is a private mansion home. This hip hotel has features such as wallpaper from top name 'Paul Smith'. In the foyer you will find contemporary pieces of art and innovative lighting.The bedrooms at the Number Sixteen are individually designed designed in a fresh, modern English style, each with views over the private gardens or Sumner Place. They are also all air-conditioned. Room amenities en-suite facilities (deep tub), include a mini bar, flat screen TV, safe, two line telephone with voice mail, modem point, WIFI high speed internet access, safe, mini-bar, Tivoli radio, DVD player and writing desk. The Number Sixteen Hotel features two drawing rooms on the ground floor decorated with original British art. One drawing room is quirky with its mix of modern art and furniture while the other is the library, has a warmer ambience and a fully stocked honour bar for the use of in-house guests.
The drawing rooms lead onto a splendid conservatory with its own section of garden and furnished with ethnic art.

The reception staff, bellboy and concierge are very friendly but the small hotel's greatest asset is the garden courtyard, where guests gather for breakfast at outdoor tables surrounding the goldfish pond or to enjoy the evening air with a bottle of wine.
